Canda Island

Canda Island

Canda Island is a self-catering resort located between the freshwater lakes and the warm tropical waters of the Indian Ocean solely in the Inhambane Province of Mozambique. The resort accommodates for families and friends who are longing for the “away from it all” experience and of course, the occasional 4×4 adventure seeker. Canda Island is where vegetated dunes line the white curve of sands and a reef offshore breaks the force of powerful waves rolling in at high tide.

The area is run as a nature reserve taking into consideration the fauna and flora and the locals. Eighteen homes are used as holiday facilities surrounded by both beautiful white sand and the blue ocean in front – a lifestyle resort of unequaled quality.

Canda Island is fairly isolated and once there, the nearest shops providing beer, cold drinks, and very basic amenities are at Canda Town which is a 20-minute drive. Chidenguele is 45 km and Quissico is 50km from Canda (driving time is an hour and a half).
