Mozambique Tourism presents Ibo Island Lodge which is located in the beautiful Quirimbas Arquipelago. The Quirimbas Archipelago is a string of 32 islands that stretch for one hundred kilometres. The Quirimbas National Park which is made up of eleven of the southernmost islands, as well as a large portion of the mainland forest, is the first in the world to be established at the request of an area’s inhabitants. With its unique location, combining a safari bush break with tropical islands makes for an idyllic holiday setting.
Quirimbas archipelago is virtually unknown to the outside world and the people of the islands go about their daily business with activities that have sustained the lives of the inhabitants for over a thousand years. Local fisherman cast their nets and lines along hundreds of kilometres of winding channels and mangrove lagoons from Arab style dhows which are hand-hewn from trees.
Rooms are all individually designed, authentic to Ibo’s history and original architecture, simple yet elegant, with splashes of opulence. You have a choice of either our premium sea facing rooms, our historical rooms, garden facing rooms, or our private Paradiso villa option.
Sea Facing Rooms : Beautiful high and low tide ocean views that change throughout the day. Air-conditioning, ceiling fans, wide verandas, magnificent king size 4 poster beds, luxury cotton and silk linen.
